We may be the right organization for you: VOLUNTEERS OF AMERICA TEXAS.Position: Transportation and CFC contractorLocation: Forest Hill, TXPay: $15.00 per hour (HCS)Hours: 21 per weekHERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING: Attendant for a 16 year-old male who is verbal and needs a staff for assistance with daily living skills such as cleaning and hygiene. Accessing leisure time and recreational activities, socialization, development of relationships, personal decision making and accessing community resources.JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficiently communicates in the functional language of the individual to whom the CFC is and transportation is assigned.
  • Feels comfortable working in close physical proximity to individual.
  • Demonstrates emotional maturity, stability, and ability to perform under stress, and possesses frustration tolerance.
  • Shows ability to exercise good judgment, cooperation, tact, and discretion in dealing with the individual, family, etc.
  • Shows interest in developing additional knowledge and skills.
  • Walk with the individual in her neighborhood.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must NOT be the spouse of the individual to whom the Contract CFC staff is assigned: or if the individual is under 18 years of age, a parent of the individual to whom the Intervener is assigned.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of two years experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Valid Texas Drivers’ License.
