Head of Operations

A rapidly growing data center developer is seeking a proven operations leader to design, build, and scale the company’s U.S. operational framework from the ground up. This senior executive role will define how future data center sites are planned, launched, and managed, establishing the foundation for long-term operational excellence.

The Role

You will be responsible for building the operational backbone of the organization – from commissioning strategy and process development to team structure and vendor partnerships. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in mission-critical environments and the ability to translate design intent into scalable, high-performance operations.

Collaboration across internal teams (engineering, construction, finance, and energy) and with external partners will be essential to ensure every new site is operationally ready before going live.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the company’s end-to-end operational framework for future data centers.
• Establish standards for commissioning, operations readiness, and maintenance.
• Build and lead a high-performing operations team aligned to future site launches.
• Define KPIs, SLAs, and playbooks for reliability, safety, and cost efficiency.
• Partner with design and construction to ensure operational scalability and maintainability are built in from day one.
• Drive vendor selection and strategic partnerships for facility management and critical systems.
• Support executive leadership with capacity planning and long-term operational strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or related field.
• 15 years of experience in mission-critical infrastructure, data centers, or industrial operations.
• Demonstrated success building operational programs and teams from inception.
• Strong technical knowledge of power, cooling, and reliability systems.
• Ability to work cross-functionally and lead in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Ability to travel as required.

Compensation & Benefits

• Total Package: $500K–$650K
