Network Engineering Specialist

A leading defense and technology organization is seeking a skilled Network Engineering Specialist to design, implement, and support secure, high-performance network infrastructures serving critical defense and government programs.

This role offers the opportunity to work on mission-driven projects in a technically challenging, high-security environment where precision, collaboration, and innovation are key.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain IP-based network infrastructures for secure communications.

• Provide Tier-3 technical support and resolve complex routing and performance issues.

• Develop and maintain network documentation, topology diagrams, and configuration standards.

• Identify opportunities to improve scalability, automation, and operational efficiency.

• Support integration, testing, and maintenance of network systems across multiple domains.

• Participate in on-call rotations and planned maintenance activities as required.

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in network engineering, network planning, or infrastructure design.

• Strong working knowledge of routing and switching protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VLANs).

• Familiarity with network design tools such as Visio or similar.

• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities with attention to detail.

• Strong communication and documentation skills.

• U.S. Citizenship required and must be able to obtain or hold a DoD Security Clearance .
