Job Position: Special Education Teacher (Middle & High School)

Location:Lake Villa, IL 60046

Pay Rate: Starting at $50/hour

Position Summary:The Special Education Teacher will deliver individualized instruction, support emotional and behavioral growth, and collaborate with a team of professionals to foster academic and personal success for students in a therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide instruction aligned with IEP goals in small group and 1:1 settings

• Collaborate with school social workers, therapists, and support staff

• Implement behavior support plans and therapeutic strategies

• Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with IEP requirements

• Foster a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment

Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching license (state-specific certification required)

• Experience working in therapeutic, self-contained, or alternative settings preferred

• Strong classroom management and behavior intervention skills

• Compassionate, patient, and trauma-informed approach to teaching

• Able to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
