  • Backfilling for retirement

  • Freddie resources manage the arrangement; monitoring, compliance, auditing, monitoring change tickets, coordinating between app teams and the vendor

  • Supporting security config for vendor management

  • Remediating any baseline security config, using zSecure

  • Not doing infrastructure changes, but making sure what is in place is compliant

  • Supporting day to day operations, working with application teams/architects

  • Monitoring servicenow tickets

Must Have:

  • The need here is for a mainframe engineer specializing in Z/OS. Knowledge of mainframe security related to encryption. Knowledge of governance and controls related to supporting audits & findings in reference to BSCs (baseline security configs), key managements. Knowledge of IBM Mainframe System. zSecure
  • Specific tool must haves are going to b & Carla

Job Description:

  • A mainframe engineer who knows security, compliance, and vendor coordination.
  • Someone who can manage audit requirements, not just run systems
  • A person who can analyze risks, support security remediation, and communicate well with various teams.
  • This position is more compliance/security/governance-oriented than hands-on development or hardware upgrades.

Daily Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with vendors (especially the mainframe vendor that manages hardware, software, and OS)
  • Ensure security configurations are compliant (baseline security configs / BSCs)
  • Use zSecure and Carla to monitor, audit, and maintain security standards
  • Work with application teams and architects to maintain security and access control integrity
  • Handle and track ServiceNow tickets
  • Support audit requests and remediation efforts.

Must-Have Skills:

  • 5 years of IBM Mainframe (z/OS) experience
  • Strong understanding of z/OS internals & architectures
  • zSecure experience (mainframe security tool)
  • Knowledge of CARLa (zSecure’s custom language) preferred
  • Familiarity with governance & compliance (audit support, key management, encryption, BSCs)
  • Tools/tech: JCL, TSO/ISPF, CICS, DB2, IMS, VSAM, SQL, XML.
