Must have:
We are seeking candidates with a minimum of 10 years of experience in C, C++, and/or Python programming languages. Applicants should also have at least 10 years of experience with version control software. A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is preferred. Successful candidates will exhibit strong decision-making abilities and a readiness to work independently while also leading and mentoring junior software engineers. Experience in a collaborative software development environment utilizing agile principles, structured development processes, code reviews, and automated DevOps tools is essential. Familiarity with collaboration tools such as Git, Bitbucket, JIRA, and Confluence is highly desired. Additionally, experience in programming languages like Java, Ada, and participation in Agile teams will be advantageous.
Responsibilities:
In this role, I will oversee the implementation, deployment, and maintenance of safety-critical software systems for LOR1 VMS applications. I will define and establish VMS architectures to meet both customer requirements and Boeing standards. I will ensure compliance with internal design practices and industry standards by directing verification and validation efforts for VMS. My role includes investigating and resolving software-related issues and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to refine requirements and specifications. I will provide technical leadership in the development of VMS and facilitate the integration of externally-generated functions. My responsibilities will also include designing next-generation common application architecture for VMS updates on the F/A-18 and F-15 fighter aircraft and leading the modernization roadmap for legacy VMS solutions. I will serve as the key technical liaison for AD VMS, advise management, and collaborate closely with customer representatives. Additionally, I will oversee the preparation and maintenance of software documentation, influence the research and implementation of emerging technologies, and actively mentor others to support organizational growth.
