Job Title: Software Engineer
Location: Redondo Beach, CA

About the Role

Join a team working on revolutionary systems that impact lives globally and contribute to national security. This role supports the Ground Solutions and Mission Support (GSMS) Software Integrated Project Team (IPT), which spans development and operations & maintenance contracts. The team focuses on mission operational software product lines and new capabilities in coordination with a restricted SCI customer.

You’ll be part of a diverse, highly skilled group working on Next Generation Ground Systems, Ground Element Modernization (GEM), and software deliveries to both CONUS and OCONUS operational sites.

Responsibilities

  • Develop software using C in a fast-paced Agile environment.
  • Design, code, and unit test new capabilities based on Mathematical Algorithm Requirements (MARs).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software issues documented in Discrepancy Reports (DRs).
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and senior engineers across multiple subsystems.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 0-2 years of experience, or a Master’s/PhD in STEM with 0 years of experience. (Additional 4 years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.)
  • Proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming and C .
  • Familiarity with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with DevSecOps and test automation.
  • Proficiency in C, C , Java, Python, Perl.
  • Strong mathematical and algorithmic skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience working in Agile Scrum teams.
  • Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo).
  • Development experience in Linux environments using Git.
