Description: About the Role

We are seeking a skilled IBM MQ/IIB Systems Programmer to join our team and support enterprise-level messaging infrastructure. This role involves working in a zSeries operating system environment, providing technical expertise across the software lifecycle, and ensuring high availability and performance of messaging systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design, integrate, and implement IBM MQ/IIB solutions.
  • Perform systems programming and maintenance in a zSeries environment.
  • Administer MQ across multiple applications and environments.
  • Plan and execute MQ upgrades and apply maintenance patches.
  • Install and maintain z/OS and ISV software.
  • Configure and manage MQ objects including Queue Managers, queues, and channels.
  • Add Queue Managers to clusters and queue sharing groups for load balancing and failover.
  • Provide technical leadership throughout the software lifecycle.
  • Work with cloud technologies, virtualization, APIs, and modern programming languages.
  • Develop software using languages such as Python, Java, Go, JCL, REXX, PERL, PHP, JYTHON, and tools like zOSMF Workflows, J2EE, MVC, JDBC, Servlets, and Ansible.
  • Apply agile and lean methodologies in daily work.
  • Tune MQ performance using SMF or other reporting tools.
  • Collaborate effectively across teams to achieve shared goals.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong experience with IBM MQ/IIB in enterprise environments.
  • Proficiency in zSeries operating systems and MQ administration.
  • Understanding of RACF/ACF2 security and SYSPLEX technology.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
