Description:

Engineering Technician

Location: Fargo, ND

Duration: 24 months

Job Purpose:

Support design engineering teams in prototype development, PCB assembly troubleshooting, and electronic testing/debugging.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, test, and analyze electronic assemblies to identify and resolve defects.
  • Develop flying probe test programs using TAKAYA APT-1600FD software.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and summarize findings for engineering teams.
  • Rework and repair electronic products per industry standards.
  • Build test harnesses, fixtures, and circuit boards to support design validation.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for prototype testing and modifications.
  • Collaborate with engineers to resolve design and process issues.
  • Design and fabricate advanced test boxes and support equipment.
  • Train team members and assist in lab equipment maintenance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Electronics, technical diploma, military certification, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in electronics, manufacturing, or engineering (3 years preferred).
  • Proficient in PCB troubleshooting, electronic component testing, and reading schematics.
  • Skilled in using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work independently.

Preferred Skills:

  • 3 years of experience in PCB failure analysis and fine-pitch soldering.
  • Familiarity with advanced test equipment (e.g., logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers).
  • Experience with PCB layout, 3D printing, and machining various materials.
  • Prior exposure to electronic systems and machinery used in industrial or agricultural equipment.
