Serves as the lead technologist for Specimen Gate or OpenELIS LIMS. Assists the LIMS Administrator with Quality Assurance (QA) for the LIMS systems. Communicates with external and internal customers and vendors to support and maintain the LIMS. Performs data queries and generates reports for laboratory management.Serves as the lead and back-up technologist for Specimen Gate or OpenELIS LIMS. Assists the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Administrator with QA for the LIMS systems. This includes staff training, procedures/manual maintenance, QA follow-up Quality Assurance Investigation Report (QAIR), monthly monitors, maintaining Quality Control (QC) records and management of compliance documentation for laboratory certification Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA). Act as a Public Health Laboratory (PHL) point of contact for evaluation, configuration, implementation, and validation of upgrades to OpenELIS and Specimen Gate systems. Serves as backup liaison between Bureau of Information Technology, the PHL, and LIMS vendors.State Minimum Requirements: A bachelor’s degree in a health-related field and journey-level work experience in the specialty area; or an associate degree or equivalent training in a health-related or technology field and advanced work experience in the specialty area. A master’s degree in a health-related field and entry-level experience in the specialty area may be substituted for the requirements stated above. Previous technical supervisory work experience is required for supervisory positions.Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.Agency Additional Requirements: Must have experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and familiarity with HIPPA and CLIA.
