About The Role The NRMP is seeking a skilled Data Analyst to join its dynamic team. This pivotal role involves preparing comprehensive reports, publications, and data sets that serve the organization and its stakeholders. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing new reports, maintaining existing ones, and utilizing SQL proficiently for data extraction, transformation, and analysis. The role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the organization’s mission by delivering critical insights through data-driven decision-making. The Data Analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams, respond to internal and external data requests, and ensure the accuracy and performance of all reporting outputs. This position supports the NRMP’s commitment to transparency and continuous improvement in its services and publications.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in data analysis and reporting within a corporate or organizational environment
  • Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and related programming tools for complex query development
  • Experience with Python scripting for ETL processes and data integration
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and DevOps principles
  • Experience with business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Amazon Quicksight is a plus
  • Knowledge of Crystal Reports is advantageous
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, or a related field (preferred)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Understanding of undergraduate and graduate medical education and residency processes is highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, develop, and manage reports across the enterprise throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Create and manage datasets using SQL to identify trends and generate actionable insights
  • Develop, test, and optimize queries, stored procedures, functions, and packages to produce accurate data reports and datasets
  • Respond promptly to reporting and data requests from internal teams and external stakeholders, providing regular status updates to leadership
  • Engage in performance tuning of reports and query optimization to enhance efficiency
  • Conduct unit testing of data and reports, participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) at various stages
  • Perform periodic maintenance, enhancements, and defect resolution within testing and UAT environments
  • Collaborate with teams to refine data requirements and ensure alignment with organizational goals
  • Maintain adherence to security and privacy policies as outlined in the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)
