About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Full Stack, Staff Software Engineer to join our dynamic team and help expand the product offerings of Addition Wealth. This role involves designing, developing, and deploying scalable systems primarily built with Typescript and hosted on AWS. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, with experience in building modern serverless or containerized architectures, and will demonstrate excellent problem-solving and organizational skills. You will play a key role in shaping the technical direction of our products, leading complex integrations within the personal finance space, and contributing to the overall product strategy. Your work will directly impact thousands of users by providing innovative financial tools such as personal finance scenario builders and tax calculators, ensuring high standards of correctness, scalability, and user experience.

Qualifications

  • Deep experience in building, deploying, and maintaining modern serverless or container-based systems
  • Proficiency in Typescript and frameworks such as NestJS and NextJS
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure tools like Terraform and CloudFormation
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases, particularly Postgres and Redshift
  • Excellent systems design, project management, and mentorship skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of projects
  • Good product sense with the ability to weigh trade-offs and propose creative solutions
  • Experience with complex system integrations, especially within the financial technology domain
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a bias for action, preferring early iteration and data-driven decision making
  • Relevant educational background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop scalable, reliable systems from the ground up, balancing risk and maintainability
  • Lead the design, implementation, testing, and deployment of core products such as financial scenario builders and tax calculators
  • Manage complex integrations within the personal finance ecosystem to ensure seamless customer experiences and accurate financial reporting
  • Collaborate with product teams to define technical requirements and contribute to product strategy and roadmaps
  • Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence
  • Ensure high standards of code quality, security, and performance across all development efforts
  • Participate in code reviews, system design discussions, and technical decision-making processes
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and incorporate best practices into the development lifecycle
