The Role

We’re looking for a technical ninja obsessed with AI tools who wants to build the systems that power our M&A/acquisition sourcing engine—and over time, deploy those same capabilities within the companies we acquire. Depending on the candidate this role may be full time, or start out as part-time and evolve into a full time opportunity.

Your primary focus: Building the proprietary sourcing machine that identifies and tracks software acquisition targets at scale. You’ll architect data pipelines, automated outreach systems, and enrichment workflows using the latest AI tools to create an unfair advantage in deal flow.

No M&A experience required. You’ll learn the business side from experienced operators while doing what you do best: building technical systems that solve complex problems.

The compounding opportunity: As you master the sourcing systems and we close deals, you’ll have the unique opportunity to deploy similar automation and AI tools within our portfolio companies—helping them scale their sales & marketing, optimize customer success, and enhance R&D efficiency. This is incredibly rare: you’ll build systems that acquire companies, then build systems that make those companies more valuable. Each acquisition becomes a new canvas for your technical craft.

About Manna Stone Holdings

Manna Stone is the foundation for exceptional software and services companies to flourish for generations. At our core we buy, AI-enhance, and perpetually hold industry specific, mission critical software and services businesses that are purpose-built for highly specialized markets. Our foundational principles of Aligned Vision, Good Stewardship, and Permanence guide us to invest and hold for decades emphasizing the long-term compounding of capital through nurturing, trusting, and supporting the people who found and operate companies that we acquire. Our Founder & CEO previously co-founded a digital lending SaaS startup that was acquired by a top 25 bank and was the Global Head of M&A and Integration at Infor, one of the world’s largest enterprise software companies.

What You’ll Build

Acquisition Sourcing Systems

  • Design and maintain proprietary databases of software companies matching our acquisition criteria (ICP)
  • Build web scraping systems to continuously discover and monitor potential targets across multiple data sources based upon proprietary “signals”
  • Use AI data enrichment tools (Clay, Apollo, ZoomInfo, etc.) to structure and enhance company/founder profiles
  • Create automated workflows that transform raw data into actionable insights
  • Develop scoring models to rank and prioritize acquisition opportunities
  • Build dashboards and reporting systems to track pipeline health and conversion metrics
  • Design and deploy multi-channel outreach sequences using Instantly, Reply.io, Smartlead, or similar platforms
  • Integrate CRM systems (HubSpot, Attio, etc.) with enrichment tools and email platforms
  • Build personalization engines that tailor messaging at scale using AI and dynamic variables
  • A/B test messaging, timing, and channels to optimize response rates

Post-Acquisition Growth Systems

  • Sales & Marketing Automation: Deploy the same outreach and automation systems within acquired companies to help them scale their customer acquisition
  • Customer Success Optimization: Build workflows and tools to improve retention, expansion, and customer satisfaction
  • R&D/Engineering Enhancement: Implement AI coding tools, documentation systems, and development workflows to increase engineering velocity
  • Data Infrastructure: Set up analytics, dashboards, and data pipelines that give leadership real-time visibility into business performance
  • Process Automation: Identify and automate manual workflows across all departments to increase efficiency

Continuous Stack Evolution

  • Stay ahead of the curve by constantly evaluating and integrating emerging AI tools and platforms
  • Build integrations between disparate tools to create compound leverage
  • Create playbooks and templates that can be replicated across multiple acquired companies
  • Develop proprietary tools when existing solutions don’t meet our needs

What Makes You Successful

Technical Excellence (Must Have)

  • You don’t just write scripts, you architect elegant solutions. Python/JavaScript are second nature, and you leverage AI coding assistants and infrastructure (Cursor, Cognition, Lovable, Replit Agent, Claude, etc.) to move at light speed
  • You’re the person who automates everything—if you’ve done something manually twice, you’re already building a script for it
  • Deep experience with web scraping, APIs, data pipelines, databases, and automation workflows
  • You build tools that build tools—you think in layers of abstraction and compound leverage
  • Natural debugger who loves solving gnarly technical problems

AI Tools Obsessive (Critical)

  • You live on Product Hunt, Twitter/X, and HN discovering new AI tools before they trend
  • You have strong opinions on Clay vs. Apify vs. Bright Data, Instantly vs. Smartlead vs. Reply.io
  • You’ve already experimented with the latest AI agents, data enrichment platforms, and automation tools
  • You follow the startup ecosystem closely—you know which tools are overhyped vs. genuinely game-changing
  • You’re perpetually testing, comparing, and integrating new technologies into your stack
  • You get genuinely excited when a new API drops or a tool releases a game-changing feature

Systems & Stack Optimization

  • You don’t accept “good enough”—you’re constantly thinking about how to make systems 10x better
  • Natural instinct for finding leverage points where small improvements create massive downstream impact
  • You understand the difference between building custom vs. buying/integrating, and when to do each
  • Scrappy problem-solver who doesn’t need everything figured out before starting

Business Curiosity (We’ll Teach You)

  • Genuine interest in how software businesses work and what makes them valuable
  • Curiosity about M&A, acquisitions, and why founders decide to sell their companies
  • Willingness to learn about SaaS metrics, vertical market software, and business evaluation
  • You don’t need M&A experience—just intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn the domain

Work Style & Values Alignment

  • Patient builder who understands that compounding excellence requires consistent daily effort—each day is “one dot” of a much bigger picture we are building towards
  • Humble good steward of the resources available to you — you think like an ownerand understand success is driving maximum impact and outcomes while consuming limited resources
  • Self-directed and resourceful—you don’t need prescriptive instructions
  • Intellectually curious about both technical systems and business strategy
  • Excited by the long game: building infrastructure that compounds in value over years

Nice to Have (But Not Required)

While this role is primarily systems-focused, we value candidates who have or want to develop:

  • Interest in occasionally jumping on calls with founders during the acquisition process to understand their businesses and tech stacks firsthand
  • Curiosity about working directly with portfolio company teams to understand their workflows before building automation
  • High EQ and relationship-building instincts that could support both acquisition conversations and post-acquisition partnerships with leadership teams
  • Ability to translate technical capabilities into business value when presenting to non-technical stakeholders
  • Interest in eventually mentoring other technical hires as we scale the team

We’re open to this role evolving based on your interests and strengths—the best learning often comes from direct interaction with founders and operators.

Compensation & Incentives

We believe in aligning incentives with long-term value creation. This role may start out as part-time and evolve into a full time opportunity depending on the candidate.

Base Salary: $85,000 – $105,000 (based on experience and technical proficiency)

Performance Bonus:up to 100% of salary based on the following:

  • Acquisitions closed

  • System efficiency gains (automation impact, cost per lead optimization)
  • Response and conversion rate improvements
  • Data quality and coverage metrics

Equity: Ability to earn meaningful Equity in Manna Stone Holdings over time based on performance and tenure.
