Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and hands-on Senior Design Engineer with a strong background in pre-engineered metal building design. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing structural analysis & design for PEMB system & components ensuring that all projects meet applicable codes, engineering standards, architectural drawings and customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design of high complexity building system including but not limited to frame design, connection design, bracing system & foundation etc
• Develop and verify engineering calculations, reactions, and design models utilizing Metal Building Softwate (MBS), Enercalcs & manual check as required
• Ensure compliance with IBC, AISC, ASCE7, MBMA, AWS and other applicable industry standards.
• Design connections, bracing, and special structural conditions such as hips, valleys, mezzanines, jack beam, crane support, canopies, standing-seam roof systems etc
• Apply engineering principles to account for live, wind, snow, seismic, collateral, and crane loads per applicable design codes
• Ensure compliance with company design procedures, project specifications, and engineering best practices.
• Provide technical support to erection teams as needed to resolve field issues.

Skills & Qualifications

Required:

• 15 years of experience in building & foundation design with recent 10 years focused on PEMB design.
• Proficiency in Metal Building Software (MBS), AutoCAD & other structural analysis and design tools etc.
• Strong background in foundation design and integration with PEMB framing systems
• Experience checking /reviewing drawings for compliance prior to sealing.
• In-depth knowledge of IBC, ASCE, AISC steel Manual, MBMA, AWS, & standards relevant to PEMB industry standards.
• Strong experience with complex detail conditions such hip/valley conditions,cranes, standing seam roof system, mezzanines, jack beam, canopies & others.
• Ability to interpret architectural drawings and identify design conflicts affecting functionality of PEMB
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work in fast-paced & challenging environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• PE (Professional Engineer) license required
