DB2 DBA on zOS
Location: Malvern, PA
Description: Our client is currently seeking a DB2 DBA on zOS
Must have experience working directly on the mainframe
Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot SQL performance issues, and guide embedded SQL in COBOL translate application designs into physical database objects.
Backup/Recovery: Implementing strategies to safeguard data and restore it when needed.
Db2 utilities: load, unload , Reorg and runstats
Performance Tuning: Optimizing DB2 system and application packages for speed and efficiency.
Space Management: Monitoring and managing disk usage to prevent overflows and ensure smooth operations.
Daily tasks include monitoring locks, failed updates, and exception reports. DBAs also manage space, storage, and capacity planning, ensuring high availability and stability.
Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot SQL performance issues, and guide embedded SQL in COBOL translate application designs into physical database objects.
Familiar with BMC Catalog Manager tools , Mainview , BMC log master and CA-Erwin
Catalog/Directory Maintenance: Ensuring system metadata is accurate and up-to-date.
