About the Job

As a Test Hardware Design Engineer , you will be responsible for designing, integrating, and validating Test Equipment and Test Program Sets (TPSs) for multiple programs. TPSs include Interface Test Adapters (ITAs), cables/harnesses, and software updates to common core test stations. You’ll collaborate across Engineering & Technology (E&T) functions to develop technical solutions and support production site integration efforts.

This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in a team environment and is eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

  • Design, integrate, verify, and validate hardware/software for Test Equipment.
  • Develop and modify TPSs including ITAs, cables/harnesses, and software.
  • Integrate designs with existing common core test stations.
  • Create test plans and documentation for Design Assurance Reviews and V&V.
  • Program TPSs using National Instruments tools: TestStand , LabWindows CVI , and LabVIEW .
  • Design electrical hardware including schematics, component selection, and procurement.
  • Troubleshoot test system hardware and interface test adapters.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

  • 2-4 years of experience in:

  • Electrical Testing

  • Production environments

  • User Acceptance Testing

  • 1-2 years of experience in:

  • Power Electronics

  • Validation Test Plans

  • Test Stations in Production

  • Applying technical principles across disciplines

  • Proficiency in:

  • Reading and developing electrical schematics

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)

  • Programming with National Instruments Suite (TestStand , LabWindows CVI , LabVIEW )

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with LMMFC Design Assurance Process.
  • Experience designing Interface Test Adapters (ITAs).
  • Hands-on experience with Automated Test Equipment and methodologies.
  • Strong hardware troubleshooting skills.
  • Understanding of electro-optical principles.
