Location: York PA

Contract: 3 Months

Senior Mechanical Engineer, Artillery Vehicle Design

We’re looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to play a critical role in bringing our Artillery Vehicle prototypes to full-scale production. In this position, you’ll be responsible for evaluating new designs and creating the definitive production data required for manufacturing, ensuring absolute compliance with rigorous government and industry standards.

What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)

  • Develop Production Data: Evaluate prototype designs and create the complete Level 3 Technical Data Package (TDP) , including all necessary production drawings, ensuring compliance with U.S. Government and industry specifications.
  • CAD and Documentation: Create, maintain, and revise product parts, assemblies, and drawings using PTC Creo modeling software.
  • Problem Solving & Design: Perform complex engineering design, development, analysis, and product assurance tasks. This includes solving moderately complex engineering problems that may not have clear precedents.
  • Quality Assurance: Meticulously review and check engineering drawings and associated Bills of Materials (BOMs), identifying and implementing all necessary corrections.
  • Collaboration: Actively support and participate in design reviews and technical meetings.

What You’ll Bring (Required Qualifications)

Education & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor of Science (B.S. ) degree in a relevant technical discipline (e.g., Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering).
  • Experience: A minimum of 4 years of relevant professional work experience in an engineering environment.

Required Skills & Knowledge

  • CAD Expertise: Proven proficiency in PTC Creo for 3D modeling, assembly design, and detailed drawing creation.
  • Drawing Standards: Strong knowledge of ASME Y14.100 (Engineering Drawing Practices) and ASME Y14.5 (Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Technical Compliance: Solid knowledge of relevant military and commercial design standards.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent customer relationship and communication skills for effective collaboration

Highly Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with creating and revising drawings that conform to military and commercial design standards.
  • Prior experience working in a military product production environment.
  • Familiarity with current computer applications and technologies applicable to mechanical engineering disciplines.
  • Experience performing development work while adhering to assigned budgets and project schedules within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) setting.
