Come make an impact on the communities we serve as you help us advance health equity on a global scale.Optum Insight is seeking an experienced analytics expert to serve as the Director of Analytics & Insights of the Analytics Center of Excellence (ACOE). This role is responsible for leading global talent to deliver best-in-class insights to a rapidly expanding set of clients. The creation, optimization, and deployment of insights will require effective leadership of a diverse set of analytical talent including clinical analysts, operations experts, strategy analysts, other healthcare domain experts, and many other types of subject matter experts.In addition to guiding global talent, the Director of Analytics & Insights will be responsible for driving actionable insights, adherence to best practices, and delivery of client value. Moreover, this role will create operating frameworks that ensure analytical content is efficiently created, carefully maintained, and thoughtfully distributed. This person will lead the analytically focused delivery integration of analytics between clients and Optum analytical teams, including hiring and management of personnel, designing and deployment of unified standards, ensuring fulfillment of customer needs, and the overall quality of deliverables. The Director of Operational Analytics should strive to continuously improve the quality and effectiveness of deliverables as well as the efficiency and scalability of the processes to produce value for clients.You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.Primary Responsibilities:

  • Improving and maintaining client satisfaction

  • Partner with the managing director of the ACOE and client leaders to optimize the value of analytics within client organizations

  • Create plans and accountability to ensure that analytical delivery teams are generating value for each partner organization, meeting expectations, and achieving stated goals

  • Support the management of client satisfaction and NPS scores for all clients

  • Seamlessly Implement changes and updates in collaboration with onsite client teams

  • Provide leadership for the ACOE analytics team that creates and maintains a framework for effective analytical delivery

  • Delivering best-in-class insights & analytics

  • Provide leadership for the analytics delivery teams to harness the value of talent and processes to deliver high-quality analytics

  • Identify areas of opportunity to deliver scalable analytics, including Optum-built enrichments and machine learning models, across multiple client partners

  • Channel diverse perspectives to craft elegant solutions to complex analytical challenges

  • Continuously refine delivery techniques to push the boundaries of analytical effectiveness

  • Expanding efficiency & cost effectiveness

  • Create efficient processes that move efforts toward automation and ensure that ACOE analytical delivery staff are working at top-of-license

  • Promote standardization, documentation, scalability, and process enhancements to achieve quality and efficiency gains

  • Deliver cross-client optimization that creates economies of scale

  • Creating an engaging culture

  • Lead the hiring process for the analytical delivery team that expands the diversity of subject matter expertise, skills, knowledge, and talent needed to solve the ever-changing analytical needs of client partners

  • Roll out new quality processes and build the competencies for the analytical delivery in new or evolving client technology platforms

  • Implement and facilitate an effective decision-making framework that emphasizes agility, effectiveness, and engagement

  • Support career pathing and professional development within the analytical delivery teams of the ACOE

  • 8+ years of health system analytics professional experience (e.g., business intelligence, program / product management, healthcare operations, clinical optimization, data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and / or healthcare financial modeling)
  • 5+ years of translating operational needs into actionable analytics using complex business logic, models, analytical methodologies, or algorithms to create new insights

3+ years of experience leading analytical delivery teamsPreferred Qualifications: Advanced Certifications (preferably in analytics, analytical platforms, business, human organizational development, information systems, data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, product development, Agile, project management, process improvement, or related areas)

  • Depth of experience and proven track record creating and promoting analytics-based decision making within healthcare organizations

Experience and credibility interacting with analytics and technology leadership

  • Health system analytics professional experience, with extensive focus in most of the following areas:

  • advanced analytics including machine learning and artificial intelligence

  • analytical storytelling

  • program/product management

  • data science

  • data enrichment

  • business intelligence

  • user requirement translation

  • health system strategy & value-based care transition

  • health care operations

  • health system financial models

  • health system revenue cycle analytics

  • clinical optimization

  • Experience leading large analytical organizations

  • Analytics related experience with common data systems used by health care delivery systems (e.g. EHR, patient management, claims adjudication, financial, workforce management, care management, etc.)

  • Experience leading content creation efforts within common reporting and business intelligence platforms (e.g. Power BI, Qlik, Tableau, MicroStrategy, Crystal Reports, etc.)

  • Experience creating, training, and deploying machine learning models

  • Experience producing complex business logic, models, analytical methodologies, or algorithms to create new insights

  • Experience working with industry standard data storage systems to manage big data needs that power analytics (e.g. relational and non-relational data stores)

  • Experience working with cloud based analytical platforms

  • Experience leading cross-functional efforts, with proven success in creating healthcare analytics

  • Experience building dynamic analytical teams, creating broad analytical capabilities, and managing sophisticated analytical platforms

  • Solid working knowledge of healthcare analytics and background in healthcare organizations

  • Demonstrated ability to support numerous concurrent client initiatives or projects

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts verbally and in writing

  • Demonstrated ability to lead socialization and consensus building efforts for innovative solutions

  • Willingness to travel up to 10%

The salary for this role will range from $132,200 to $226,600 annually based on full-time employment.
