Job Description:

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Support Engineer to join our teams in Elk Grove & India. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of our production systems, with a focus on our highly scalable distributed decisioning platform. You will leverage your expertise in Go, Kafka, Redis, Cassandra (or other NoSQL stores), and RDBMS (Postgres, etc.) to troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and contribute to the ongoing development and maintenance of our platform. You will work closely with development, operations, and data science teams to ensure seamless operations and minimize downtime.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide primary support for our production environment, including troubleshooting, incident management, and problem resolution.
  • Monitor system performance and identify potential issues proactively.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Develop and maintain monitoring tools and dashboards to improve system visibility.
  • Contribute to platform design, architecture, development, maintenance, and production support.
  • Collaborate with development teams to implement fixes and enhancements.
  • Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support.
  • Automate routine tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
  • Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in production support and distributed systems.
  • Work with Kubernetes and near real-time decisioning system offerings from Amazon AWS/Google Cloud Platform.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5 years of experience in production support or a related role.

Required Skills:

  • Extensive production experience with Go, Kafka, Redis, Cassandra (or any other NoSQL Store), and RDBMS (Postgres, etc.) in building highly scalable distributed systems.
  • Extensive experience with Real-time distributed decisioning systems using black-box ML models.
  • Strong ability to learn new technologies in a short time.
  • Experience with Kubernetes.
  • Solid understanding of networking, operating systems, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with near real-time decisioning system offerings from Amazon AWS/Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
