Must have:

We seek a candidate with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. You should have proven experience as an API Developer, including at least 2 years in a leadership position. Strong skills in API design and development, particularly using REST, GraphQL, or similar technologies, are essential. Proficiency in programming languages such as Node.js and TypeScript is also required. Experience with API management platforms and tools like Kong, Apigee, or AWS API Gateway is important, along with a solid grasp of security protocols and best practices in API development. Additionally, you should exhibit excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, alongside strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.

Responsibilities:


In this role, I will guide the design, development, and deployment of high-quality APIs that align with our business needs and technical standards. I will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, architects, and developers, to establish API specifications and requirements. As part of my commitment to fostering innovation, I will provide technical leadership and mentorship to the API development team. I will ensure our APIs are secure, scalable, and maintainable, adhering to industry best practices. Moreover, I plan to monitor and optimize API performance, implementing enhancements as necessary. Staying current with the latest developments in API technology will be crucial, as I will integrate relevant advancements into our strategic approach. I will also champion the adoption of API-first principles organization-wide, troubleshoot complex technical issues related to API integration and functionality, and document API designs, processes, and usage guidelines for internal and external stakeholders.

We aim for you to start as soon as possible, with a typical workday of 8 hours beginning at 9 AM. The position offers a hybrid work setting, requiring three days on-site. Experience with cloud services and infrastructure, such as Terraform, AWS, GitLab, and Apigee, is desirable.
