Sr Revenue Manager

- Salary: $90,000-$115,000 (depending on experience) incentive, full benefits and 401(k)
Responsible for overseeing revenue management and billing operations to maximize the company’s revenue and profitability. This role ensures accurate revenue recognition in compliance with applicable accounting standards, supports the month-end close process, and partners with cross-functional teams to analyze trends, identify risks, and drive improvements in revenue and billing processes.Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the revenue accounting process, ensuring accurate and timely revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 and company policies.
- Oversee billing operations, including invoice generation, billing schedules, and resolving billing discrepancies to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain and improve billing processes and procedures, partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Address and resolve billing inquiries and disputes from customers.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports related to billing and revenue.
- Perform monthly and quarterly close procedures related to revenue, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Analyze revenue and billing trends, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership to support business decisions.
- Review customer contracts to assess revenue and billing impact, ensuring proper accounting treatment.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within revenue and billing operations.
- Develop, document, and maintain revenue accounting and billing policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support pricing strategies, deal reviews, and forecasting activities.
- Prepare audit schedules and support external and internal audits related to revenue and billing.
- Lead and mentor the billing team, providing guidance and support.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience
- 5 years of progressive experience in revenue accounting, with a strong understanding of US GAAP and ASC 606.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP).
- Proven ability to lead and manage complex projects from planning through execution, ensuring on-time delivery and effective cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to internal teams, partners, and executive leadership.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced computer skills, including high proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated strength in collaboration and relationship-building.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a high-volume environment such as distribution, manufacturing, technical services (e.g., testing and repair), or forward/reverse logistics operations.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- Experience with revenue management tools.
- Experience in a publicly traded company or Big 4/public accounting.
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
