This position will work alongside our existing Safety Coordinator to create a cohesive EHS team supporting all five facilities (Imagineering Finishing Technologies and Toefco). The role requires strong collaboration, coordination across multiple sites, and the ability to influence employees and leadership to maintain a consistent safety culture.

Job Summary The Safety Coordinator is responsible for continuously monitoring and adapting safety procedures and operations to ensure a safe and fully compliant work environment for all employees.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
  • Assists with the development, tracking, and implementation of inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections.
  • Assists in the review and development of health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.
  • Conduct, coordinate, and track DOT, OSHA, IDEM, and EPA training including new hires and refreshers for all employees.
  • Update Emergency Response Plan (PPCP – Preparedness Prevention and Contingency Plan) as needed.
  • Serve as Emergency Coordinator and trainer for the Spill Response Team.
  • Supports employee recognition and engagement programs that improve the EHS culture.
  • Monitors compliance with safety procedures.
  • Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings.
  • Help develop and coordinate industrial hygiene sampling (e.g., noise, dust, toxins, etc.), to ensure employee health and safety. Evaluate process change and coordinate needed testing for employees.
  • Assist in performing internal audits (e.g., annual EHS self-assessment, etc.) and external audits as required.
  • Track inventory for safety equipment and PPE at all facilities.
  • Assists with OSHA record keeping, coordinates, testing, and supports worker’s compensation program which may involve communication with hospital resources, and federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.
  • Coordinates and facilitates the medical surveillance program including fit testing for respirators and maintenance of the medical files.
  • Participates in Environmental and Quality audits.
  • Ensures all new products are evaluated/approved before entering the Facility and that safety data sheets are entered into the SDS Library.
  • Perform/assist with incident reports. Ensure root cause and corrective actions are identified. Track and ensure all corrective actions are closed.
  • Monitor safety and quality behaviors to meet or exceed compliance with all internal standards, such as PPE guidelines, safety procedures, and quality standards.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and policies.
  • Medical or Emergency Response.
  • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Education and Experience

  • Associate’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field preferred.
  • 2-3 years of related experience required.
  • OSHA 30 training.
  • Experience in delivering safety training.
  • Hazardous Materials Response/HAZWOPPER training, knowledge, and experience.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED training.
  • Demonstrated initiative, ownership/accountability for work and seeks information for self-directed learning.
  • Experience with ISO 14001 highly preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with ISO 9001 and AS9100 preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

  • Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.
  • Prolonged periods of remaining stationary at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
  • Able to help with emergence and medical responses.
