Job Overview The overall objective is to ensure MBUSA is able to maximize the value of the vehicle in the market and to avoid vehicles going to auction. This is broken down into three main areas.

Area one is mechanical issues related to vehicles.

 This requires the ability to utilize and understand vehicle diagnostic computer systems and online technical instructions and other MB online systems for part information related to the vehicle.

 Identify, validate and perform basic mechanical / electrical repairs as well as modifications issued by MBUSA Engineering services in accordance with all MBG and MBUSA quality standards.

 Record all parts installed and repairs using MBG and MBUSA systems to ensure a complete accurate record of open and completed work to the vehicle is maintained.

Area two is body related issues to vehicles.

 This will require the ability to complete smaller body touch up and quick fix repairs and the ability to assemble/disassemble vehicle components.

 Sand and tape body components in preparation for paint.

 Provide aid to mechanical / body technicians to be effective in support of all mechanical, technical, electrical and body work functions.

Area 3 is to provide support functions to the 3rd party QVA ensuring that all technical issues are resolved in accordance with all quality standards and help survey vehicles when daily volume increases.

 Perform routine vehicle and battery long term maintenance.

 Support daily production by installing vehicle accessories as required in accordance to work instructions and MBG/MBUSA quality standards.

 Perform all preventative maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure all work being completed can be carried out efficiently.

 Complete online and classroom-based training for new tools, software (Microsoft Products), diagnostic systems and new vehicles yearly or as required. All work completed must be in adherence to ISO9001 standards and MBG/MBUSA quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Complete Long-Term Storage
  • Support mechanical and body shop as needed with repairs, bodywork preparation, quick fix, SDS flashing, accessory installations, spoiler quality checks, and identifying, completing and validating technical modifications associated with the vehicle
  • Support the wholesale preparation process with vehicle inspections as needed and QVA support
  • Perform routine maintenance on VPC vehicles, equipment, and repair shops
  • Ensure adherence to ISO9001 standards

Qualifikationen

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma (GED) or equivalent work experience
  • Automotive training/trade school preferred.
  • Must have 1 – 3 years (total) of experience in the following:
  • Automotive — Technical/body Knowledge of automotive technical information systems and repair/diagnostic procedures.

Additional Information

  • Must be able to work flexible hours/work schedule
  • Requires valid driver’s license
  • Work weekends and Holidays when required
