Media Planner
Our well-known pharma client is seeking a Media Planner to join their team in a temp to potential perm scenario. This is 40 hours,/week andideally hybrid being local to Irvine, CA/Chicago or Northern New Jersey. (with the FT potential) In Order To Be Considered Media Planner Must Have
- Media/omnichannel plan development
- Ability to synthesize research and insights into actions
- Ability to work well both independently and in a team setting, working with multiple stakeholders This Media Planner is responsible for researching and developing campaign strategy, researching media and audience information, identifying target audiences, selecting optimal media channels, and guiding plan execution in alignment with client objectives and budgets. This role is a central integrator for research tools, vendor management, RFP processes, and media channel strategy, and supports managing the Associate Media Planner.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the research and development of media plans, including audience insights, media mix strategy, and channel selection (digital, print, programmatic, social, etc.)
- Lead the RFP process identifying, sourcing, and managing relationships with vendors and partners, reviewing proposals, and negotiating media rates in collaboration with senior team members
- Act as the primary owner of vendor relationships throughout the campaign lifecycle
- Brief internal account teams and collaborate closely with the Associate Media Planner
- Develop and present strategic media recommendations to clients
- Leverage market research, competitive analysis, and performance data to optimize plans
- Collaborate with the social media team to integrate social strategies with broader media plans
- In partnership with the analytics manager, interpret data and provide strategic insights, particularly in digital and social media metrics
- Support campaign monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
- Manage, mentor and provide guidance to the Associate Media Planner
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field.
- 4-6 years of experience in media planning or buying
- In-depth knowledge of programmatic, digital, and social media channels
- Management experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Some experience with social media management tools and programmatic advertising platforms.
- Familiarity with Campaign Manager 360
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical advertising regulations and industry standards.
- Familiarity with industry research vendors and tools such as M3/Kantar, Telmar, Media Radar, etc
- Healthcare industry experience is a HUGE bonus!
