Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in IBM Mainframe technologies, COBOL programming, JCL, and DB2, along with experience in application development, maintenance, and production support on mainframe systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and related technologies.

  • Perform system analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and deliver effective technical solutions.

  • Execute batch jobs, analyze abends, and resolve issues within SLA timelines.

  • Participate in code reviews, quality assurance, and deployment activities.

  • Provide L2/L3 production support, including incident analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.

  • Work on mainframe modernization or migration projects (if applicable).

  • Follow best practices for change management, version control, and SDLC processes.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 10 years of hands-on experience in Mainframe technologies.

  • Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, CICS, and utilities (e.g., SORT, IDCAMS).

  • Strong understanding of mainframe job scheduling (e.g., CA7, Control-M) and performance tuning.

  • Experience in production support, issue triage, and on-call rotations.

  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

  • Good analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
