Job Description:

  • Responsibilities Participate in design system requirements review, specification reviews at various levels within the systemsub-system.Job SummaryThe MCA Controls Test Engineer is responsible for development and maintenance of test plans, procedures to (a) execute the testing on HITL locomotive environment (b) result analysis, review and acceptance of control software before giving go-ahead for the deployment on locomotive. This role includes the review and analysis of design requirements, functional specifications and then creating test plans, test procedures, categorizing test steps to be executed on appropriate test platform to efficiently utilize available test platforms and analyzing test results. Strong knowledge of electrical and electronic engineering principles and a background in testing and troubleshooting are typically required for this role. Development of test procedure on Magic Draw Doors to perform system integration testing and system level testing. Provide inputs for creating test environment setup, review maintain test results. Execution of test procedures on control software and components utilizing the following platforms Hardware in the loop (HITL), Model in the loop (MITL), Locomotive. Create a record of all deviations defects with enough details using formal software life cycle management tools (Clear Quest etc.) provide support until resolution. Develop automation scripts to automate test procedures, data collection, generate reports and ensure repeatable measurements with the help of test tools and simulators. Perform system-level testing on HITLLocomotive against the system requirement and interface specification prior to production release. Working closely with the internal and external design test teams in identifying problems implementing solutions.
  • Produce periodic status and operational reports Apply and improve the utilization of all software and hardware tools and assist in the creation of new testing software, hardware tools and techniques. Make independent technical contributions in-support of program objectives, as well as interacting with other Wabtec or contract engineers.
  • E. B. Tech. M. Tech. in electronics electrical instrumentation engineering with a broad technical understanding of IVV activities.5 to 10 years of related designtest engineering experience with hands on experience on testing and validation utilizing the following platforms HITL, SITL, system level (preferable Locomotive or Automotive)Experience in developing test procedures for control software, electrical and electronic equipment, systems, and components.
  • Strong understanding of general control design principles including various communication protocols (Serial RS232422, CAN or ethernet).Strong communication presentation skills and ability to communicate with all levels within the organization Ability to work hands-on in test labs and on locomotives.

Job Summary
