DPP is seeking a Network Field Service Engineer.

Work arrangement:

  • Onsite
  • W2 position, 6 months contract to hire
  • ; active Secret security clearance

Required experience:

  • Three (3) years of practical hands-on experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of data networks, digital computers, microprocessors, cloud computing environments, and distributed data systems

  • Demonstrated experience in Radio Frequency (RF) solutions, network security, Quality of Service (QOS), and Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) for current and future shipboard networking systems required

  • Must be able to troubleshoot network connectivity issues, repair hardware, and perform daily tasks such as status reports, asset tracking, and generating/resolving trouble tickets

  • Demonstrated experience with updating systems, including operating systems, networking and storage templates, server design, storage allocation, and virtualization

  • Must be able to stage, image, and deploy laptop and desktop machines, as well as migrating data

  • Demonstrated experience in developing network automation solutions and experience with new network technologies including voice, automation, and other network technologies

  • Two (2) years of combined experience in the management, administration, maintenance, and repair of UNIX/LINUX and Windows based computer networks, including:

  • ISNS, CANES, ADNS, CENTRIXS, and/or SCI Navy systems (or equivalent type network)

  • Windows based network management and administration

  • Cisco routing and switching, and server and router configuration and management

  • UNIX/LINUX based processing systems management

  • Other networking tools, software, and appliances

Travel:

  • Requires travel/underway periods of up to 90 days at a time

Required education:

  • An Associate Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Technology, or be a graduate of US Navy electronics C school or equivalent civilian electronics technical school.

  • Curriculum must have dealt directly with the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of: VME computers, digital computers, microprocessors or peripheral/interface equipment, networks, communications system, navigation system and/or sonar system

Required certifications:

  • Security+ CE or Cisco Security

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification or equivalent

  • Operating System certifications for:

  • Configuring Windows 10 (70-697)

  • Configuring Windows Server 2012 (70-410)
