Senior Data Engineer

Location: Boston, Massachusetts (Hybrid)

You ll play a key role in designing and building scalable cloud-based data solutions that support healthcare programs serving families, individuals with disabilities, children, seniors, and long-term unemployed adults.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop cloud-based data management systems and pipelines.
• Implement decentralized data architecture (Data Mesh).
• Ensure data security and compliance with governance policies (HIPAA).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, QA, analytics, business).
• Optimize performance of cloud data platforms.
• Lead design sessions and guide ETL development.
• Document strategies, processes, and best practices.
• Work with large-scale, multi-terabyte data platforms.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5 years in cloud data architecture, data warehousing, ETL, and system engineering.
• 3 5 years developing cloud-based solutions (preferably AWS).
• Strong experience with Snowflake , Informatica IICS , SQL , and Python.
• Familiarity with Airflow for orchestration.
• Proficiency in Unix/Linux and shell scripting.
• Experience with sensitive healthcare data and HIPAA compliance.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and business audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS or Cloud Data Engineer certification.
• Snowflake certification.
• Experience with Cognos or Tableau reporting tools.
