Job Description:
Pay Range: $50.22hr – $55.22hr
- The Research Associate will support laboratory operations focusing on recombinant baculovirus generation and protein expression in insect cell systems.
- The role includes performing molecular biology techniques, cell culture maintenance, data capture, and documentation, while ensuring compliance with laboratory protocols and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Generate recombinant baculovirus and perform WVB techniques.
- Express proteins in baculovirus-insect cell systems using shake flasks.
- Maintain cell cultures, perform transfection, infection, and harvest viral stocks from suspension cultures.
- Sample culture flasks and prepare samples for analytical testing.
- Perform standard molecular biology tasks including DNA purification, PCR, Western blot, and SDS-PAGE.
- Execute aseptic techniques and maintain sterile conditions.
- Wash glassware and USP process equipment.
- Design, analyze, and document experiments; maintain electronic and lab notebook records.
- Communicate experimental results effectively in group and department meetings.
- Contribute to lab organization, reagent tracking, and ordering.
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, SWIs, and experimental protocols.
- Coordinate data capture and tracking of experimental information.
- Write and review protocols and reports.
Qualification And Education:
- Bachelor s degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related discipline.
Experience:
- 0 2 years of experience in academic or industry settings.
- Experience with baculovirus protein expression systems and insect cell cultures highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques and DNA sequence analysis.
- Construct design experience using SnapGene or similar software is a plus.

- Ability to plan and conduct experiments, evaluate results, and interpret data.
- Strong teamwork and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize assignments.
- Capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in cell culture procedures and aseptic techniques.
- Flexible to work changing schedules and hours as required.
