Wastewater Treatment Operator – Direct Hire | Aerospace | Metro DetroitThe Adecco Permanent Recruitment Group has partnered with a growing Aerospace company in Metro Detroit to recruit a Wastewater Treatment Operator. This is a full-time, direct hire role with long-term stability and the opportunity to work in a highly regulated, technical manufacturing environment supporting environmentally critical operations.Position Summary: The Wastewater Treatment Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining the facility’s wastewater treatment system. This includes process control, equipment inspections, chemical handling, recordkeeping, and compliance with all applicable state and federal environmental regulations.This is a hands-on role requiring mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safe and compliant operations.? Key Responsibilities: Operate and monitor wastewater treatment equipment and systemsAdjust treatment processes based on system readings, lab data, and operational statusConduct equipment inspections and routine maintenance (valves, pumps, gauges, aerators, etc.)Perform sludge wasting and operate the sludge pressAdd chemicals to maintain proper pH and treatment balanceCollect and transport samples for lab testing; interpret data as neededMaintain accurate logs, inspection sheets, and regulatory reportingPerform preventative and corrective maintenance on systems and support emergency response when requiredMaintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environmentAssist in troubleshooting and repair of treatment equipmentQualifications: High School Diploma or GED required3-5 years of experience operating a wastewater treatment system in an industrial or manufacturing environmentBasic knowledge of chemistry and wastewater treatment principlesAbility to read and interpret meters, gauges, schematics, and maintenance manualsExperience operating tools and equipment such as pH meters, D.O. meters, forklifts, hand tools, and lab testing equipmentFamiliarity with environmental regulations at the federal, state, and local levelsStrong safety awareness and ability to respond to operational emergenciesBachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or Chemistry is a plus, but not requiredIdeal Candidate Competencies:Strong mechanical and chemical process troubleshooting skillsSolid understanding of occupational safety standards in wastewater environmentsComputer literacy (data entry, basic reporting, MS Office)Ability to work independently and maintain detailed recordsEffective communicator and team playerPay Details: $23.00 to $28.00 per hourEqual Opportunity Employer/Veterans/DisabledTo read our Candidate Privacy Information Statement, which explains how we will use your information, please navigate to https://uat.adecco.com/en-us/candidate-privacyThe Company will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and/or security clearance requirements, including, as applicable:
