Position: Experienced Data Scientist
Type: Hourly Contract
Compensation: $100/hour
Location: Remote
Duration: Approximately 2 months
Commitment: 15 hours per week, fully remote and asynchronous
Role Responsibilities (Training support will be provided)
- Analyze large structured datasets provided by partner organizations
- Design reasoning-based analytics questions requiring multi-step problem-solving and data interpretation
- Write and validate SQL queries (with DuckDB, pandas, or Python notebooks) to answer those questions
- Produce clear, human-readable explanations that articulate analytical reasoning and insights
- Format deliverables into structured JSON outputs (question, query, answer)
- Ensure delivery consistency and quality through peer collaboration and reviewer feedback
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in data analytics, data science, or related quantitative fields
- Proficiency in SQL and Python; experience with DuckDB or pandas preferred
- Strong background in data exploration, statistical reasoning, and business intelligence
- Familiarity with iPython, Jupyter Notebooks, or GitHub
- Excellent written communication skills with ability to explain complex reasoning clearly
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related discipline (advanced degree preferred)
- Access to a desktop or laptop computer (Chromebooks are not supported)
