Activites Assistant -Full time

Position Summary

Vinson Hall (VH), a premier Continuing Care Retirement Community in McLean, VA, is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Activities Assistant to support our Assisted Living, Long-Term Care (LTC), and Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) programs. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with older adults, has a creative spirit, and is passionate about planning and leading meaningful activities that enrich daily life and foster a strong sense of community.

• Previous dementia training and experience required.
• Experience in a geriatric activity setting or nursing home preferred.
• Certification as an Activities Professional (per state and federal regulations) preferred.
• Strong desire to work with older adults and contribute as a collaborative team member.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and implementation of activity programs tailored to residents’ interests.
• Lead or support group and one-on-one activities that promote social, cognitive, and emotional well-being.
• Accurately document residents’ participation and progress toward individualized goals.
• Communicate with residents, families, and staff regarding scheduled activities and special events.
