Overview:
Our client is a well-capitalized and fast-growing independent power producer focused on utility-scale energy infrastructure projects across North America. With institutional backing and a leadership team comprised of industry veterans, the company is actively scaling a portfolio of energy storage and renewable assets that support grid reliability and decarbonization.
As the platform expands, we are seeking a Senior Vice President of Capital Markets to lead project-level financing efforts, including tax equity, construction and term debt, and other structured capital solutions. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for driving transactions from strategy and sourcing through negotiation and close, while collaborating closely with internal teams and external capital partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead financing strategies across a range of capital structures including debt, tax equity, and hybrid instruments
- Manage the end-to-end execution of project finance transactions including diligence, modeling, negotiations, and closing
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with lenders, investors, and other financial institutions
- Oversee and review financial models to support project evaluation and investment decisions
- Collaborate cross-functionally with development, legal, accounting, and commercial teams to align financing with project execution
- Mentor and support junior finance team members while contributing to broader corporate financial strategy
Qualifications:
- 12+ years of relevant experience in project finance, investment banking, or infrastructure private equity, with direct exposure to renewable energy or energy storage preferred
- Deep understanding of tax equity, construction and term debt, and risk allocation within project financings
- Proven track record executing complex project finance transactions from start to finish
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, or related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus
- Highly organized, commercially minded, and able to operate in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment
