Empath Health is seeking a detail-oriented Part-Time Office Assistant to join our Home Health team in Venice, FL. The Office Assistant will play a key role in supporting the daily administrative functions of the agency, ensuring that patient records, staff communication, and scheduling are accurate and up to date.

What You’ll Do

  • Answer incoming calls and respond to inquiries in a courteous and professional manner
  • Greet visitors and clients, providing general information about agency services
  • Maintain and update electronic medical records (EMRs) and patient files in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Assist with scheduling home visits for nurses, therapists, and aides
  • Track and confirm visit logs, timesheets, and documentation from field staff
  • Prepare and submit billing documents, insurance claims, and authorizations as needed
  • Order and manage medical and office supplies inventory
  • Coordinate communication between clinical staff, caregivers, and patients/families

Position Requirements

  • Education/Experience: High School diploma, or GED is required.
  • Minimum of one year of Office Assistant experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and diplomacy, both oral and written, required.
  • Must possess excellent organizational and management skills.
  • Must be self-motivated, detail oriented and possess a high degree of independent judgement and ability
  • to problem-solve.
