Position Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Media Relations/Public Affairs Manager to lead proactive media strategies, manage public affairs communications, and serve as a key spokesperson for Orlando Health. This role is instrumental in shaping our public image and managing crisis communications across local, state, and national platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic media relations and public affairs plans.
  • Identify and pitch positive news stories about Orlando Health’s facilities, staff, research, and innovations.
  • Respond to media inquiries and serve as spokesperson when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support events and initiatives that enhance our reputation.
  • Provide on-call media support outside of regular business hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Represent Orlando Health at community events and public functions.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in media relations, preferably in a healthcare setting. Newsroom experience and familiarity with social media platforms are highly desirable.
  • Skills: Strong communication, strategic planning, crisis management, and interpersonal skills.
