About The Role StudioBinder is seeking a talented and passionate full-time Content Copywriter to join our dynamic team. This role is primarily remote, offering flexibility for freelancers to contribute from anywhere, with the potential to transition into a full-time position based in our Santa Monica office for selected candidates. As a Content Copywriter, you will be responsible for creating compelling, engaging, and accurate content that resonates with our target audience of filmmakers, video producers, and creatives. Your work will include writing and editing blog articles, video treatments for our YouTube channel, newsletter copy, and updating website content through WordPress. The ideal candidate will possess a deep passion for filmmaking, storytelling, and education, with a keen eye for detail and a strong command of grammar. You will collaborate closely with our editorial team to develop content that not only informs but also inspires our community, helping to establish StudioBinder as a thought leader in the industry.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of professional copywriting experience
- Proficiency in Google Drive (Docs, Sheets, etc.)
- Strong passion for copywriting, filmmaking, and teaching
- Excellent command of grammar, style, and tone
- Experience with WordPress or similar content management systems
- Ability to write engaging blog articles, video scripts, and newsletter content
- Knowledge of video production and filmmaking processes
- Familiarity with industry resources such as Every Frame a Painting, Nerdwriter, John August, and ScriptNotes
- Creative, detail-oriented, and a self-starter
- For full-time candidates, residence in or near Santa Monica is preferred
Responsibilities
- Write and edit insightful and engaging blog articles related to filmmaking, video production, and industry trends
- Create and refine video treatments for StudioBinder’s YouTube channel, ensuring clarity and appeal
- Draft compelling newsletter copy to engage our community and promote our content
- Update and maintain website articles and content within WordPress, ensuring accuracy and relevance
- Collaborate with the editorial team to develop content strategies aligned with company goals
- Research industry news, trends, and resources to inform content creation
- Participate in team stand-ups, content planning, and review sessions to ensure timely delivery of high-quality content
- Coordinate with editors and designers to optimize content presentation and effectiveness
