The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Security Manager in carrying out the Security section’s administrative activities. This position will report directly to the Security Manager and will serve as the lead in-house staff member and act as a designee during the absence of the Security Manager. The position will supervise 1-3 temporary employees and will ensure consistency in implantation of security plans, parking administration, and facility access. This position is responsible for making sound decisions and being capable of managing the major functions of the Security Section. Â This position will assist the Security Manager in evaluating risk and providing solutions to secure the perimeter of all facilities and providing a safe and secure environment for our employees. Gather and analyze surveillance information to be used internally or by law enforcement following incidents. This position works collaboratively with law enforcement, Office of the Inspector General, Information Technology (IT) cyber security, License and Theft officers, and other divisions by providing information recorded in the access control system and/or in the CCTV digital video system. The position will assist with the Incident Commander for Raleigh facilities. The incumbent needs to manage the emergency floor warden training program; schedule and conduct evacuation or inclement weather drills. The employee must develop, implement, and manage efforts statewide for security issues such as active shooter, domestic violence, workplace violence, and other confrontational emergencies.

Management prefers applicants that demonstrate the following

  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel; SAP, BEACON and NEOGOV
  • Experience providing administrative assistance and support in the daily operations of managing and directing operations, programs, and activities.Â
  • Demonstrated ability to independently analyze, apply, and interpret policy and procedures to resolve problems and questions
  • Demonstrated experience in maintaining card access systems, making ID badges, and monitoring video surveillance systems
  • Demonstrated Skill in using proprietary security software programs.

Bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in HR, budgeting, research or administrative management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
