Position: Mapping Coordinator I
Location: Providence, Rhode Island
Duration: 6 months contract-
Full Time W2 with benefits
Pay Range: $25 – $27/hr. W2
Job Overview:
The Mapping Coordinator I will provide support to the Mapping/GIS supervisor by overseeing Mapping personnel in collecting and inputting mapping data into the Rhode Island GIS system. This role is based full-time in the Providence, RI office, with an expected office relocation to Johnston, RI at the beginning of 2026. Candidates with experience in record-keeping, Microsoft Excel, Work Management Systems, ArcGIS Pro, and Esri Enterprise are highly preferred. Utility experience is also a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the supervisor in training, monitoring, and developing personnel.
- Review, approve, and post projects in the mapping system.
- Update and maintain the backlog database.
- Generate and update various reports for tracking performance.
- Support the supervisor in ensuring department goals are met.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in Automated Mapping GIS is a plus.
- At least 2 years of mapping, engineering, or GIS experience.
- Knowledge of mapping systems.
- Strong computer skills.
