Job Description
We are seeking a Senior VMware Architect (VCF) to join our Professional Services / Architecture team. In this role, you will lead the architecture and delivery of VMware Cloud Foundation across enterprise environments, drive discovery and design, set deployment standards, and mentor engineers. This is a highly technical position with real design authority on DR, capacity, and security.
Responsibilities
Lead discovery workshops, gather requirements, and deliver documented VCF 9.x architectures.
Create logical/physical designs, recovery plans, runbooks, and operational models.
Implement and upgrade SDDC Manager, vSphere/vCenter, vSAN ESA, NSX, and Aria suite.
Plan and execute migrations, upgrades, workload mobility, and BC/DR strategies.
Establish monitoring, capacity models, health checks, and ensure smooth handover to operations.
Mentor engineers and set delivery standards.
Partner with security teams on segmentation, compliance, and key management.
Required Qualifications
8 12+ years of VMware core stack experience, with 3 5+ years in VCF design/operations at scale.
Expertise in at least two: NSX (segmentation, EVPN/BGP), vSAN ESA, Aria suite, multi-site DR.
Strong documentation and ability to present/defend designs to stakeholders.
Proven end-to-end ownership of design and delivery.
Certifications (One or more required)
VCDX (DCV/CMA/NV)
VCAP (Design or Deploy in DCV/NV/CMA)
Broadcom Software Knight (VMware track) or equivalent
Nice to Have
Aria Automation, PowerCLI/Python scripting, Terraform for vSphere/NSX.
HCX and Live Recovery experience.
Designing GPU/AI workloads on VCF.
Knowledge of frameworks: Well-Architected, CAF, STIGs, CIS baselines.
