This posting is for the Business Officer II position in Division 13. Â This position will serve as the Chief Financial Officer for Division 13. Â This position reports directly to the Division Engineer and serves as the primary liaison with the Fiscal Section, Purchasing Department, Internal/External Auditors, and Regional Accountant IV. This position is responsible for all activities related to fiscal administration, inventory management, purchasing, budget preparation and monitoring.Â
The Business Officer position assists the Division Engineer in management of Maintenance and Construction funds. This entails tracking work orders established from these and statewide funds. The Business Officer prepares, monitors and requests adjustments to the Division administrative budget, initiating requests for adjustments as needed; serves as the Division travel and expense final reviewer/approver; oversees local and emergency purchases; and serves as the Division procurement card administrator. Â
This position is responsible for coordination and monitoring of the annual materials inventory and coordinates accounting for natural disaster-related costs. Experience in BSIP/SAP software is preferred.

Management prefers applicants with the following
- Experience in MS Office applications
- Experience in accounting practices and procedures including accounts payable
- Experience developing budgetary reportsÂ
- Experience leading or supervising others in business operations
- Knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or other discipline related to the area of assignment from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of progressive related experience, two years of which should be in a supervisory role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
