job summary:

We have an immediate need for a Post Entry Import Specialist. In this role you will is responsible for managing, reviewing, and resolving U.S. Customs post entry processes, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, and supporting internal stakeholders with import-related matters. This role requires strong knowledge of U.S. Customs laws, Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification, free trade agreements, and regulatory compliance. The Specialist will collaborate with Customs Brokers, Freight Forwarders, and government agencies to ensure timely and accurate resolution of entry discrepancies. This position is fully remote and will operate during standard EST business hours.

responsibilities:

  • Audit US and CA import entries: Identify errors, discrepancies, or potential compliance risks.
  • Ensure accuracy in trade compliance: Verify accurate HTS classification, valuation, country of origin, and use of trade programs.
  • Maintain compliance documentation: Keep accurate records according to CBP, CBSA, and company requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders: Work with Customs Brokers and internal logistics/procurement teams to resolve import entry issues.
  • Manage post-entry processes: Monitor and track all open post-entry issues to ensure timely resolution.
  • Process post-entry corrections: Handle corrections, protests, and duty refunds in compliance with U.S. CBP and CBSA requirements.
  • Stay informed on trade regulations: Keep up-to-date with trade regulations, CBP rulings, and industry best practices.
  • Support trade compliance initiatives: Assist with broader cross-functional efforts, including training, process improvements, and risk assessments

qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, or related field
  • 2-4 years of experience in trade compliance, customs brokerage, or import operations
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, HTS classification, valuation, and Free Trade Agreements
  • Experience with post entry processes (PSC, protests, reconciliation) required
  • Proficiency in Excel and Access
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
