What does a successful Infrastructure Engineer do at Client?
As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and optimization of AIX and Linux systems supporting the Financial Institutions Group. You will ensure system reliability, performance, and security across a 24/7 operational environment.
You’ll play a key role in managing infrastructure components, troubleshooting system-level issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support mission-critical applications.
What you will do:
Manage and maintain AIX and Linux servers, ensuring high availability and performance
Troubleshoot and resolve system-level issues, including hardware, OS, and network-related problems
Implement and maintain system monitoring tools and processes to proactively identify and address performance bottlenecks
Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and support teams to deploy and maintain system configurations
Automate system administration tasks using shell scripting or configuration management tools
Participate in on-call rotation and incident response for infrastructure and application related issues
What you will need to have:
4+ years of experience in AIX and/or Linux system administration
Experience with system monitoring and performance tools such as Nagios, Splunk, Dynatrace, or similar
Familiarity with incident management systems and troubleshooting methodologies
Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., Bash, Python, or Perl)
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
What would be great to have:
Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., PowerVM, VMware)
Knowledge of storage and backup solutions in Unix/Linux environments
Experience in the fintech domain or supporting financial applications
Strong understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements
