Role: Applications Architect 3

Location: Onsite in Austin, TX 78751

Duration: 12 months with possibility of extension

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior GIS Architect to lead geospatial initiatives in cloud environments, particularly within health, HHS, or government domains. This role demands deep expertise in Esri technologies, data governance, and enterprise geospatial architecture.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, Public Health, or related field.
  • 7 years of professional GIS experience, including 3 years in a lead or architect role within cloud environments.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Esri ArcGIS (ArcGIS Pro, database management, spatial analysis, web mapping).
  • Proven leadership in geospatial governance (policy development, stakeholder engagement, framework creation).
  • Strong understanding of data management practices, metadata standards, and quality assurance.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise geospatial data architecture and workflows, including demographic, socioeconomic, and health datasets.
  • Excellent communication, technical writing, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years working with SQL Server Enterprise Geodatabases.

  • 5 years of Python and SQL scripting experience.

  • 4 years of experience developing GIS mapping solutions for healthcare providers or clients.

  • 4 years of GIS team leadership and mentorship.

  • 2 years working in Agile/Scrum environments.

  • 3 years of familiarity with Medicaid or social service datasets.

  • Relevant certifications such as:

  • Esri Enterprise System Design Professional

  • Esri ArcGIS Enterprise Administration Professional

  • GISP (1 year)

  • Experience with Machine Learning and LLMs for data extraction and documentation.

  • Exposure to GeoAI and Generative AI for geospatial analytics.

  • Integration experience with Snowflake data warehouse.

  • Development of custom GIS-enabled web applications.
