About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our dynamic team at Hexagon. In this role, you will be instrumental in analyzing large and complex datasets from diverse sources to derive actionable insights that influence strategic decisions. You will collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to develop data-driven strategies aimed at improving user engagement, retention, and overall customer experience. Your expertise will be essential in designing, deploying, and maintaining machine learning models and statistical analyses to address complex business challenges. Additionally, you will lead experiments such as A/B testing to evaluate new features, build intuitive dashboards, and communicate insights effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Your role will also involve staying abreast of the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and big data technologies to continually enhance our analytical capabilities. Ensuring data integrity, scalability, and reproducibility of models and analyses will be a core part of your responsibilities, contributing to the company’s commitment to excellence and innovation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer, or in a similar analytical role
- Proficiency in Python, R, or other statistical programming languages
- Strong experience with SQL and relational databases
- Solid foundation in statistics, probability, and machine learning techniques
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, matplotlib, seaborn, etc.
- Hands-on experience with big data tools like Spark, Hadoop, Databricks, or Snowflake (preferred)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms including AWS, GCP, or Azure (preferred)
- Experience with NLP, deep learning, or time-series forecasting (preferred)
- Proficiency in deploying machine learning models into production environments
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business questions into analytical solutions
- Experience working in an agile environment and familiarity with Jira
- Knowledge of Life Sciences or regulated industries is a plus
Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, and analyze large, complex datasets from multiple sources to support business insights and decision-making
- Partner with product and engineering teams to define and implement data-driven strategies that enhance user engagement, retention, and customer satisfaction
- Develop, deploy, and monitor predictive models and statistical analyses to solve complex business problems
- Build model explainability tools such as SHAP and LIME to ensure end users can confidently interpret model outputs
- Lead the design, execution, and analysis of experiments, including A/B and multivariate testing, to evaluate new features and optimize product performance
- Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate insights effectively to stakeholders at all levels
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, product managers, and business leaders to develop data-driven solutions aligned with strategic goals
- Stay current with emerging trends and advancements in machine learning, big data, and data science technologies, applying them to improve processes and outcomes
- Ensure data quality, model scalability, and reproducibility of analyses to support reliable decision-making
