Founding Software Engineer

Full-time | On-site | San Francisco, CA

Compensation: $200k — $225k base + significant equity

About the Role

I’m partnered with a venture-backed SaaS startup on a mission to help SMBs grow. They’re building an embedded marketing platform that integrates directly into core systems of record used by salons, fitness studios, restaurants, and other main street businesses. With $2M in funding and a small founding team, they’re now looking for a Founding Software Engineer to design, build, and scale their product from the ground up.

What You’ll Do

Build and scale REST APIs and embedded components powering SMB marketing tools
Partner directly with customers to design and integrate products into vertical SaaS platforms
Experiment with and deliver full stack features using modern frameworks and AI tools
Contribute to the technical strategy, architecture, and direction of the product
Operate as a true founding engineer, owning projects end-to-end and shaping the company’s future

What We’re Looking For

2+ years of professional software engineering experience
Full stack skills with experience in APIs, integrations, and customer-facing systems
Strong knowledge of one or more of Ruby on Rails, React, TypeScript, TailwindCSS, Redis, Postgres, AWS, Kubernetes
Excited by the challenges of early-stage product development and direct customer collaboration
Bonus: experience with AI tools and applied use cases

Location: On-site in San Francisco (in-person office culture)
Salary: $200k — $225k + significant equity
