Join us as a Cook Full Time 40 Hours 1030AM 700PM Under the supervision of the Food Service Manager the cook is responsible for the preparation of food for patients employees and guests Also responsible for the general supervision of the Food Service Department in the absence of the Food Service Manager Prepare and cook hotcold food items using from scratch cooking methods mixes andor other convenience items and ready to cook products Utilize approved recipes and instructions to prepare and cook regular house and a variety of modified diet items Assure that top quality properly prepared and cooked eye appealing products are always produced Maintain productivity in order to meet department hot food needs as required by meal period schedules Clean and sanitize all cooking areas and equipment as instructed and as needed to meet department sanitation requirements Always use safe food handling procedures to ensure food wholesomeness including maintaining safe temperatures and maintaining proper food storage to ensure that cross contamination doesnt result Maintain proper organization of all food prep cooking and refrigerated storage areas to insure optimal effectiveness of work processes Successful candidates will have High School Diploma or GED preferred Two 2 years training or experience in large scale commercial or institutional food preparation Working knowledge of ovens mixers and other kitchen equipment Prefer completion of a CertifiedFood Service Sanitation Course Must be able to read and write and make simple calculations and follow written and oral instructions Must be thoroughly familiar with foods and preparation methods Must know the proper methods and cooking temperatures for best utilization and yield of meats and other foods When you join the growing MiraVista team youre not just taking a job youre making a difference in peoples lives As our team member youll receive Medical Dental and Vision 401k match Employer paid long term disability LTD Employer paid life and AD&D Insurance Generous Paid Time Off Flexible Spending Account Tuition Reimbursement Tara Vista is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race color religion age sex national origin disability status genetics protected veteran status sexual orientation gender identity or expression or any other characteristic protected by federal state or local laws
