Here’s a Summary Of Responsibilities Reporting to the Vice President, Branded Experiences & Community Engagement (BECE), the Senior Director, Athlete and Games Experiences at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) will lead the development and execution of world-class experiences that bring the Olympic and Paralympic Movement to life for fans, athletes, and key stakeholders during key summer and winter Games-time windows. This role will be responsible for helping to define and deliver large-scale experiential strategies that amplify Team USA’s presence leading up to the LA28 Games, and beyond.
As a key member of the BECE leadership team, you will create immersive, mission-aligned experiences that build pride for Team USA, deepen stakeholder engagement, and showcase the inclusive spirit and excellence of Team USA. The Senior Director will be responsible for strategic planning, decision making, and project delivery to strengthen relationships, collaboration, and partnership with a variety of stakeholders, including rights holders, LA28, USOPC and NGB staff, fans, and donors. The Senior Director will liaise with the USOPP, USOPC Marketing, and USOPC External Affairs teams to identify and strategize new programs and experiences that grow fandom, increase athlete engagement and drive the commercial value proposition for Team USA.
Here’s How You’ll Have An Impact
- Strategic Experience Leadership:Lead the strategic planning process for Team USA’s on-the-ground brand presence in Los Angeles for the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Build and lead a unified experiential marketing vision that aligns with the USOPC’s mission, brand goals, and Games cycle priorities while creating unprecedented opportunities for scaled engagement that drives brand love and sustained fandom.
- Experience Design & Execution:Lead the planning and execution of Team USA’s on-the-ground brand presence in Los Angeles for the LA28 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Oversee creative development and flawless delivery of live, virtual, and hybrid brand activations including fan festivals, hospitality experiences, athlete showcases, and special events.
- Team & Partner Leadership:Lead a high-performing internal team and collaborate with external agencies, Games operations, USOPC security and logistics, NGBs, LA28 Organizing Committee, sponsors, and community organizations.
- Commercial Development:Partner closely with the Asset Development team to create a compelling value proposition for our TOP and Domestic partners to buy into key marketing initiatives and experiences. Develop strategic and creative pitches to drive partner sales and lead the cross-organizational collaboration for flawless execution and authentic integration into all Team USA experiences.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:Work closely with Brand, Content, Digital, Development, Athlete & Integrated Marketing, Creative, and Communications Community Engagement teams to ensure a consistent and compelling narrative across all touchpoints.
- Measurement & Impact:Define clear KPIs for all experiential initiatives and manage a measurement framework that quantifies fan engagement, brand lift, and community impact.
- Budget Oversight:Own and manage a multimillion-dollar experiential marketing budget with strong fiscal discipline and focus on ROI.
- Innovation & Cultural Relevance:Keep Team USA experiences at the forefront of cultural and technological trends through fresh formats, inclusive design, and innovative storytelling.
- Stakeholder Engagement:Identify and recommend opportunities to drive value and deliver against stated goals of different customer groups (e.g., donors, sponsors). Oversee customer fulfillment and servicing needs at all events.
- Agency Management:Lead relationships with all relevant partner agencies, including contract negotiation, event direction, and expectation setting.
- People Leadership:Create a dynamic working environment and team culture that fosters a passion for our team remit and drives a culture of innovation.

Here are the skills and experience you’ll need to be effective:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing,Sports Marketing, Businessor related fieldor equivalent work experience
- 15+years ofmarketing experience with a strong focus on experiential, event, or brand marketing
- Experience working for an agency, sports property or brand
- Demonstrated success in planning and executing large-scale live experiences
- Experience working with cross-functional groupsin matrixed organizationsand executive leadership
- Demonstratedpeopleleadership experience
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Consistent track record in developing plans, strategies, and tactics in support of strategic initiatives
- Proven experience leading and working with external creative agencies and partners to drive large-scale live experiences
- Demonstrated cross-functional team collaboration with the ability to earn confidence and support or a wide range of internal and external constituents
- Strong brief writing skills with the ability to synthesize the goals of several teams into one cohesive vision and direction
- Proven leadership skills and the ability to guide and direct the activities of large teams in dynamic, complex environments and ensure high level of performance
- Proven ability to oversee large operational budgets, manage vendors and ensure funds are used efficiently and effectively
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced atmosphere and with limited direction

- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Familiarity with the Olympic and Paralympic ecosystem, including NGBs, sponsor relationships, and Games operations

Here’s Some More Information You Need To Know
- Hiring pay range $124,000 – $170,000 per year
- This Full-Time, Exempt position is intended to work 40 hours per week.
- Bonus: This position will be eligible for the Annual Incentive Award Program, which has a 20% target. The USOPC may change or eliminate this program at any time at its sole discretion.
