Summary:
As a Data Scientist you will join a team of data scientists, AI researchers, software developers, and psychometricians who provide technical and scientific leadership for some of our most important strategic efforts companywide. You will be actively and cross-functionally involved in the entire AI/ML model development lifecycle from design to deployment. You will help design, develop, validate, operationalize, and monitor AI/ML models for our School (PreK-12) business unit, and you will collaborate closely with colleagues across functions like Product, Engineering, Learning Design, and User Experience to help the client create and deliver world-class educational experiences.

In this role you will specifically enable the development of data-driven tools to author content more efficiently.

This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.

Responsibilities:
Plan, execute, and report on projects of diverse scope independently with weekly manager check-ins.
Propose solutions to business problems by tailoring DS/AI concepts/tools/techniques.
Perform research, analysis, and modeling, and present findings to key stakeholders.
Learn how to balance multiple projects and revise project plans as circumstances change.
Collaborate with colleagues in other functions to support the creation of compelling learning experiences.

Required Qualifications:
Doctoral degree (or equivalent) in AI, Data Science, or related field
Doctoral degree in a relevant field, or a combination of 3+ years of professional experience and a master’s degree in AI, Data Science, Statistics, or a related discipline
Conceptual knowledge of DS/AI through rigorous course work and industry applications
Demonstrated ability to apply DS/AI knowledge to lead projects from start to finish
Production experience with ML, NLP, and GenAI systems
Ability to create efficient, scalable Python code
Strong technical communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Skills:
Experience with LangChain/LangSmith
Commitment to the field of education
Experience with the K-12 educational ecosystem

Pay Rate: $75- $90/hour W2
