Job Title: Connex Support Engineer

Job Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid 3 days/ week)

Job Type: Contract

Job Description/ Responsibilitie

  • Lead and mentor a team of support engineers focused on Connex applications running on HPE NonStop/Tandem systems.
  • Responsible for ensuring high-quality customer service, operational efficiency, and continuous process improvement.
  • Act as the first point of escalation for complex or high-priority customer issues.
  • Coordinate with infrastructure, application, and network teams to resolve cross-functional issues.
  • Drive root cause analysis and implement preventive measures for recurring incidents.
  • Maintain and update operational documentation, runbooks, and support procedures.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, team collaboration and decision-making skills.

What are the top 3 skills required for this role:

  • Extensive hands-on experience with Connex switch, transaction processing & their associated component
  • Expertise in TAL, COBOL, S-COBOL, and TACL programming languages.
  • Experience in using the Tandem utilities like FUP, Enscribe, Enform, Bind/XLD, SQL, DDL, INSPECT, Netbatch, Spooler, Peruse, Pathway concepts,
  • Experience with Connex knowledge on PI, TH, CH, PMC, CED, SMONINQY, CMSUTIL, NMI, EMS, Prognosis
