Production Upholstery is a job classification that performs bonding, sewing and hardware tasks to produce aircraft interior parts. Must repeatedly produce quality products in an efficient manner while maintaining a high regard for personal safety and health as well as that of co-workers. This is 2nd Shift with a $1.15/hour Shift Differential.

Required Skills

  • Responsible for the construction of interior panels, which can include cutting, bonding, sewing and performing hardware operations such as drilling, riveting and assembly.

  • Maintain safe and effective work area/environment and use appropriate personal protective and safety equipment.

  • Must complete proper paperwork documentation in logs.

  • Must follow written and oral instructions with little supervision.

Required Experience

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for the construction of interior panels, which can include cutting, bonding, sewing and performing hardware operations such as drilling, riveting and assembly.

  • Maintain safe and effective work area/environment and use appropriate personal protective and safety equipment.

  • Must complete proper paperwork documentation in logs.

  • Must follow written and oral instructions with little supervision.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for orderliness of work area and proper care of equipment, materials and tools.

  • Various other duties as assigned by superior.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Frequently lift 25 pounds.

  • Must be able to grip scissors, rollers, measuring devices, sandpaper, sanders and other hand tools and use them appropriately.

  • Must be able to use handheld burning tools and heated irons.

  • Must work in a standing and/or in a seated position.

  • Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as required.
